We want users to know which Docufiy apps work offline, which features use a server, and when a selected file may leave the device. These notes are based on an internal source review completed on May 18, 2026.

Google ML Kit Document Scanner is used through Google Play Services for the scan experience. No Docufiy server upload was found for scanned documents in the internal source review. Google Play Services may operate under Google terms and device settings.

BillSnap uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition for receipt OCR. The internal source review found no BillSnap or Docufiy backend upload for receipt images. SMS permissions are sensitive and should be disclosed clearly.

Plain language

What we will and will not claim.

What we can say

We do not quietly upload user documents based on the internal source review. When a feature needs server conversion, such as Pro and Lite document-to-PDF tools, we name that behavior.

What we should not say

We should not claim every Docufiy app is fully offline. Docufiy Pro and Docufiy Lite both use the Docufiy API for specific conversion features.

What users control

Users choose when to scan, select, convert, export, open, or share files. Android share actions then depend on the destination app selected by the user.
